Pomo Cowork · Make time for one thing
IELTS study timer for one language skill at a time
Choose a reading exercise, a writing revision, or a speaking rehearsal. Give the session a specific language goal, then review what you would change next time.
Your next focus session
25-minute preparation sessions, five-minute short breaks, and a 15-minute long break after four sessions. Use official task instructions for exam-condition practice. An existing session keeps its timing.
Sound and notification settingsHow can you use an IELTS study timer?
An IELTS study timer gives a language practice activity a clear boundary. This page starts with 25 minutes, which you can use for an exercise and a short review rather than an entire test component. Pick the skill you want to develop before starting: finding support for a reading answer, revising an unclear paragraph, or making a spoken explanation easier to follow.
Choose materials for the IELTS test you are taking. Academic and General Training have different Reading and Writing tasks, so a useful practice goal depends on your route. Keep the task instructions available and distinguish a learning session from a timed exam simulation. The default here is a study interval, not an official task duration.
For speaking rehearsal, use your own recording tool if you want to listen back; the timer does not record or assess your voice. For listening review, identify the point in the audio where you lost the meaning before repeating the exercise. Finish each session with one observation to carry into the next attempt. Pomo Cowork provides the countdown and optional company while your materials guide the language work.

Is the 25-minute preset an IELTS Writing time limit?
No. It is a general preparation interval for activities such as drafting part of a response or revising an answer. When you want to simulate an official task, follow its current instructions and set the appropriate duration. Keep ordinary study breaks separate from a practice test that requires continuous work.
Can I use this for both Academic and General Training?
Yes. The adjustable timer works with either, but you need the materials for the test you plan to take. Reading and Writing tasks differ between those routes. Choose the right prompt before setting the interval so your practice addresses the task you will actually be preparing for.
Does the timer record IELTS speaking practice?
No. It provides the time boundary, not voice recording or speaking assessment. If you want to review a rehearsal, use a separate recording tool and follow the prompt you selected. Listen back for a specific feature, such as whether your answer stays on topic and is easy to follow.
How should I review a listening practice session?
Identify which answers you missed and return to the relevant part of the material using the resources supplied with it. Note whether the difficulty involved vocabulary, following the meaning, or recording the answer. Give the next block a targeted aim instead of replaying everything without a question to investigate.
Can Pomo Cowork predict my IELTS band score?
No. A countdown and session history cannot assess language performance or predict an IELTS band. Use appropriate feedback and the official assessment information for your practice work. The timer helps you reserve time for an attempt and its review, while the content of that attempt remains what needs evaluation.
