Pomo Cowork · Make time for one thing

A rain timer for a quieter stretch of study

A blue evening, rain at the window, and time to stay with one thought. Sound is there when you want it.

A rainy window, with the volume in your hands

A rain timer pairs a study countdown with the sound and atmosphere of rainfall. This page uses a deep blue palette and a still window illustration, with a large clock beside it. Rain audio starts only after you press Play rain. You can adjust its volume, pause it independently of the timer, or keep the entire session silent.

The starting rhythm is 50 minutes of study followed by a ten-minute break. Use it for a sustained reading assignment, practice problems, or a draft that needs some room to develop. Choose the 25-minute preset for a shorter block, or enter your own duration before starting. The visual atmosphere stays the same whichever rhythm you choose.

Rain playback and study timing are separate controls: pausing the clock leaves rain as you set it, and stopping rain leaves the countdown running. When time is up, a visual message appears; there is no completion alarm over the audio. Leaving the page stops this page’s rain player and discards its timer. It does not change the main workspace’s sound preferences.

Choose your sound, then your task

  1. Name the task and choose your study and break durations.
  2. Optionally press Play rain and set a comfortable volume.
  3. Start the timer. Pause either the clock or the rain whenever needed.
  4. At the end, prepare a break and press Start break when ready.

Why use this timer?

Rain without a playlist

One audio control and one volume slider keep the sound choice simple.

A still evening window

The rain pattern is static; there is no moving video behind the countdown.

Separate sound and time

Leave the rain on during a pause or stop it while you keep studying.

For a desk that needs a quieter atmosphere

Longer reading
Keep a steady background sound beside a chapter or research paper.
Writing
Use the task field for a scene, section, or argument to develop.
Silent study
Keep audio off and use the dark window as a visual setting alone.

The Pomo Cowork difference

A rain player that belongs to this page

The countdown and audio player are local to this tool. Starting rain here does not change your saved ambient mixer, and starting study does not create an account session. The full workspace remains available for tasks, history, and coworking.

Questions about rain timer

Does rain start automatically?

No. Press Play rain to start audio, then use the volume slider to adjust it. Pause rain stops the sound without pausing study. Audio may need a connection to load; if playback fails, the page shows a retry message.

Will the rain stop when the countdown finishes?

No. Rain is controlled separately so it can continue through a break. Pause it with Pause rain or leave the page to stop this player. A completed countdown displays a message without playing an alarm.

Can I use a 25-minute rainy Pomodoro?

Yes. Select 25 minutes and set the break to five minutes before starting. The initial 50/10 rhythm is only a preset. Both fields accept whole minutes from one to 180.

Does the timer work when I switch tabs?

The clock calculates time from timestamps, so it catches up when you return to the tab. Browsers can suspend background pages or audio, especially on phones. Do not rely on it for an alarm while your device is asleep; a reload starts over.
