Pomo Cowork · Time together
A timer for working together when you have one hour
Give the appointment a simple shape: five minutes to prepare, 45 minutes for your own work, and ten minutes to step away or check in.
Fit working together into a real calendar slot
A timer for working together is useful when the end time is already fixed. Start with the appointment, then subtract preparation, a break, and any conversation you want at the end. For an hour together, five minutes of setup plus 45 minutes of work leaves ten minutes for rest and a short update. The work countdown covers only the 45-minute portion.
Choose an outcome that fits the block. One person could review a draft while another prepares tomorrow’s agenda. If you need to exchange material first, do that during setup. Keep unresolved discussion outside the quiet interval so neither person spends the work period waiting for an answer.
This page presets an idle timer to 45 minutes. Change the duration in settings when your appointment is shorter or longer. Each person controls their own countdown; this is not a synchronized meeting clock. Agree on the finish time separately, especially if somebody starts late or pauses during the session.
Make a one-hour appointment usable
- Confirm the same meeting time and time zone with everyone attending.
- Spend up to five minutes choosing tasks and exchanging anything needed to begin.
- Each start a 45-minute timer and work independently until the agreed finish.
- Use the remaining ten minutes for a break and a short update; plan another block only if you have time.
Why use this timer?
A clear finish time
A defined work block leaves room for the next calendar commitment.
Preparation has a place
Exchange files or clarify a question before the countdown instead of interrupting the session.
A flexible duration
Adjust your own interval to the actual overlap you have with another person.
For a single appointment at separate desks
- Colleagues between meetings
- Use an overlapping hour to complete independent follow-ups before the next call.
- Partners with different schedules
- Choose one window that works for both of you without committing to a whole afternoon.
- People finishing a draft
- Reserve time to make changes and save a reviewable version before the session ends.
The Pomo Cowork difference
A work block with visible company
The countdown and live sessions sit on the same page. You can pause your own work, adjust future intervals, and use room links when you want a common destination for a planned appointment. Nobody else’s timer changes when you change yours.

Is this one timer shared by all participants?
No. Everyone has an individual timer. To work during the same interval, agree on a duration and start time. The live session list provides company, but it does not synchronize countdowns.
Does the 45-minute countdown include the break?
No. It is 45 minutes of focus, with a separate ten-minute short break afterward. Five minutes of setup, 45 minutes of work, and ten minutes for rest or a check-in fill one hour.
Can we work together for just 20 minutes?
Yes. Set the focus duration to 20 minutes before starting and choose a smaller task. Reserve extra time for setup or conversation if the appointment needs them; changing the timer does not extend your calendar slot.
What should a late arrival do?
Keep the agreed finish time and set a shorter personal interval, or join the next block. Tell the group which option you chose. Arriving late does not automatically restart or extend other people’s sessions.
Why does the timer show my previous duration?
An active or paused session keeps its timing when you visit another tool page. Finish or reset it before setting a new duration. The 45-minute preset applies to a fresh idle visit.
