Pomo Cowork · Time together
Pomodoro working together, one round at a time
One person drafts a proposal. Another clears a backlog. Agree on a starting time, give your own task 25 minutes, and meet again at the break.
How to use Pomodoro when working together
A group Pomodoro is an agreement to work and pause at roughly the same times. Each person chooses an individual task before the round begins. You might outline a presentation while a colleague checks figures for a report. The group supplies a start and a return point; nobody needs to watch another person work.
Plan the number of rounds as well as the interval. Two 25-minute rounds with a five-minute break between them take 55 minutes. Allow extra time for opening goals and a final check-in. Four rounds with three short breaks and a final 15-minute long break take 130 minutes, so leave room in the calendar before committing to a full cycle.
Use the break to step away first, then decide whether a brief update would help. Save questions that need a real discussion for a separate conversation. Pomo Cowork shows live sessions beside your timer, but joining the same page or room does not link the countdowns. Each participant starts, pauses, and resumes independently.
Plan two rounds with a coworker
- Agree on two 25-minute rounds, a five-minute break between them, and where to check in.
- Each person names one result for the first round, then starts their own timer at the agreed time.
- Take the break, record where you stopped, and choose the next small step.
- Start the second round together and finish with a brief update on what is ready or still needs work.
Why use this timer?
A repeatable appointment
A short sequence of work and breaks gives the group a plan it can use again.
Independent priorities
Everyone chooses a task that matters to them without waiting for a shared assignment.
Room to recover
Scheduled breaks make it possible to leave the desk between rounds rather than filling the whole appointment with work.
For people who want more than one round
- Accountability pairs
- Meet for two rounds, state your own goals, and report what moved before leaving.
- Small remote teams
- Reserve a quiet stretch for independent delivery after decisions have already been made.
- Freelance colleagues
- Keep a recurring work appointment even when your clients and deadlines are different.
The Pomo Cowork difference
The timer and the company in one place
Keep the countdown beside real coworking activity without arranging a video call. The room directory provides a place to meet a particular group under the app’s existing access rules. The timer stays personal, so a pause on your desk does not stop anybody else.

How do we start a Pomodoro together?
Agree on the duration and a start time through your usual communication channel. Open the timer, check that it shows the intended interval, and each press Start. The site does not provide a host button that starts every participant’s countdown.
Does everybody need to work on the same project?
No. A group Pomodoro can include writing, coding, admin, or study at separate desks. Match the work period if that helps, and keep the task and definition of progress personal.
What happens if one person pauses?
Their own timer pauses; the other countdowns continue. Decide whether that person will rejoin at the next break or finish later. A missed round does not require the entire group to restart.
How many rounds fit into an hour?
Two 25-minute work periods and one five-minute break take 55 minutes. That leaves five minutes for setup and a final check-in. If you also want a break after the second round, allow for it within that remaining time or extend the appointment.
Can we choose a different work and break pattern?
Yes. Each person can change the focus and break durations in timer settings before starting. Agree on those values if you want aligned breaks. Opening this page preserves an existing running or paused session.
